Strong content, uneven pacing

A useful guide. The examples assume a particular environment, but that is fixable.

This is the third book I have read on webgpu this year, and it is comfortably the best of them. The chapters on webgpu are the strongest — the examples are stripped down but complete, and I could follow along without constant guessing. The author avoids over-explaining, which keeps the pace up but means you need to pay attention. Worth picking up if you already have the basics. Set realistic expectations and you will get a lot out of it.

This is the one to get

This is the one to get if you are serious about graphics.

This is the third book I have read on graphics this year, and it is comfortably the best of them. Some terminology is introduced without much ceremony; I had to look a few things up along the way. Some terminology is introduced without much ceremony; I had to look a few things up along the way. I have already recommended it to two colleagues and will recommend it to more.

Good, but not for absolute beginners

A worthwhile addition to my shelf, with realistic expectations.

I read this over a couple of weekends alongside a small side project, which turned out to be the ideal way to approach it. The author clearly knows the subject deeply and has thought hard about how to teach it. Some of the diagrams are dense and I had to reread a few sections, though that may just be me. Good value for the price and worth the time it takes to work through properly.

Almost excellent

Good value. Not perfect, but I would buy another book from this author.

This is the third book I have read on javascript this year, and it is comfortably the best of them. The chapters on javascript are the strongest — the examples are stripped down but complete, and I could follow along without constant guessing. It is denser than the page count suggests, and I found myself slowing down around the middle. Worth picking up if you already have the basics. Set realistic expectations and you will get a lot out of it.

A worthwhile read

Recommended, with the caveat that it is not a gentle introduction.

I picked this up after getting stuck on a project and it turned out to be exactly the right book at the right time. A few of the examples could be more realistic, but the underlying points come across clearly. Some of the diagrams are dense and I had to reread a few sections, though that may just be me. Recommended, with the caveat that it is not a gentle introduction.

Worth every page

Worth every page. I have already recommended it to two colleagues.

This is the third book I have read on science fiction & fantasy this year, and it is comfortably the best of them. The author clearly knows the subject deeply and has thought hard about how to teach it. The balance between theory and practice is well judged; neither side dominates. Worth the money and the reading time, without hesitation.
